Economic and Real-Estate Indicators Num. 62
January 2026
Over 50 indicators of the Spanish economy and real-estate sector
Here is the 62th issue of our GIX Report where we share the reality of the Spanish economy and real-estate sector every month.
The INE has published revised data from the Quarterly Accounts for the third quarter of 2025, with the notable change that GDP has been revised significantly downwards. On the expenditure side, private consumption fell by one tenth of a percentage point, while public consumption rose by two tenths of a percentage point, consequently changing the growth pattern. Investment supports growth, especially construction activity and capital goods. On the external side, imports increased significantly, while exports fell due to our inflation differential, which makes them more expensive. In short, the economy is growing only on the demand side.
In the financial and investment sphere, the IBEX remains at record highs, facilitating financing for listed companies.
Real estate activity indicators remain weak. Housing is unaffordable in terms of purchase prices and rents, which are high. This is supported by demand and low supply, as well as the weak legal security enjoyed by owners and the sector in general.
