December 2025

Over 50 indicators of the Spanish economy and real-estate sector

Here is the 61th issue of our GIX Report where we share the reality of the Spanish economy and real-estate sector every month.

With preliminary data from the National Accounts and having indicated consumption behaviour as the main indicator of progress, investment in housing does not reflect very high growth rates in the first three quarters of the year, and the same is true for construction and real estate activity, if we look at the supply side. This component of expenditure must improve so that the increase in housing on the market converges with current demand needs.

The general CPI reflected 3% in the preliminary data for November, which is the recent range for the last few months, give or take a tenth of a point, although it is important to note that it is 100 basis points above the European average, contributing to a loss of competitiveness for the products we export.

Mortgages on homes remain at an average of around 41,500 units, representing a year-on-year increase of more than 18% compared to 2024.
