Over 50 indicators of the Spanish economy and real-estate sector

Here is the 57th issue of our GIX Report where we share the reality of the Spanish economy and real-estate sector every month.

The preliminary quarterly accounting data published by the INE points to a continuation of the Spanish economy’s growth trend of 2.8% in real terms, adjusted for seasonality and calendar effects. This figure is unchanged from the previous quarter, although quarter-on-quarter variations show some stabilisation in growth rates. Both demand and supply show attractive year-on-year rates. Final consumption by households and non-profit institutions serving households (NPISH) is the main driver, followed by investment, which also shows notable growth. The negative point is external demand, which is down slightly from the previous quarter.

On the production side, with the exception of the primary sector, all other sectors increased their year-on-year growth rate in the second quarter, with services standing out, and within this sector, real estate activities with a 3.3% year-on-year variation.

The consumer confidence and retail trade indices are stable, with overall and underlying prices aligned at around 2.3% and 2.2% respectively. We are waiting to see how the signing of tariffs between the US and the European Union will be reflected in the markets.

Real estate activity remains unchanged, with a notable increase in mortgage applications.
