Executive Summary

This analysis provides a detailed assessment of the economic and operational performance of the hotel sector across different tourist areas, offering a clear understanding of the results obtained during the analyzed period.

The data highlights the top tourist zones and points of interest for each of these indicators. Additionally, the performance in 2024 is compared to 2023.

• Tourist Zone: A tourist zone is defined as a group of municipalities where tourist traffic is specifically concentrated.

• Tourist Spot: A tourist point refers to a particular municipality where the tourist offer is significantly concentrated, making it stand out as a destination within a broader tourist zone.

Key Indicators:

• Occupancy Rate (% occupancy): Represents the percentage of hotel rooms occupied during a specific period.

• ADR (Average Daily Rate): The average daily rate paid for an occupied hotel room.

• REVPAR (Revenue per Available Room): Indicates the revenue generated per available room, regardless of whether the room was occupied or not.

Data from January to August 2024

In this edition, we observe that in terms of occupancy rate, Lanzarote leads with 87.22%, followed by Palma – Calvià with 85.05% and Mallorca with 84.92%. The data reflects that tourism in the Canary and Balearic Islands remains at similar levels to 2023.

Regarding the average daily rate (ADR), Ibiza and Formentera top the list with an ADR of €209.23, highlighting the high value of luxury tourism in this area, with a 9.04% increase. Likewise, Barcelona also stands out with €172.32, solidifying its position as a leading urban destination, with a growth of 7.08%.

In terms of revenue per available room (RevPAR), Ibiza and Formentera once again lead with €174.82, followed by Barcelona at €144.01 and Menorca at €137.55, indicating a solid recovery in coastal and urban areas.
